Particulars of motor tug, Foundation Josephine built in 1942 by Henry Robb, Leith, Scotland, which was received from British Admiralty, on long-time charter, to replace steamship Foundation Franklin, being held in reserve; length 204 ft 11 in.; breadth 38 ft 6 in.; draft 16 ft 6 in.; gross tonnage 1136.13; dimensions of both ships compared; propelled by twin Atlas Polar Diesel engines of 1600 hp which drive single propeller through Vulcan coupling.
