Tunnel is single track, standard gage which pierces Beacon Hill, about 4 mi north of Kowloon terminal; maximum cover above rail level is just over 1300 ft; it was destroyed Dec 8 1941 by Field Company Engineers of Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps; method of demolition described.
