Locomotive built by Andrew Barclay, Sons and Co for Workington Iron and Steel Co, designed to withstand arduous and continuous switching duties under dusty conditions encountered in steel works, and able to negotiate sharp curves and steep gradients; unit is of Diesel mechanical type with 0-4-0 wheel arrangement; power unit is 6-cyl Paxman RPH engine, developing 300 bhp at 1350 rpm.
