As part of investigation into loads acting upon light airplanes during flight and ground maneuvers, Aeronca 7A was equipped with suitable strain gages and recording equipment; flight and ground loads during various flight maneuvers, such as spins, stalls, loops and unsteady state flight at various speeds were determined; reason for front strut being almost twice size of rear strut although latter carries greater share of airplane's weight most of time in flight.
