Tests carried out by C.C.SMITH in cooperation with airport and ministry officials led finally to cast iron lantern equipped with eleven metal louvers, 3 in. wide, 3/4 in. between louvers, which are at angle of 93° to lantern front; mounting height of light element is 7 ft 4 in. and lumen output per 100 lin ft is +275.
