A.E.C. railcar sets supplied to Great Northern Railway (Ireland) are fitted with special type of quick release equipment developed by Gresham and Craven Ltd; exhausters are connected to separate exhauster pipe line which is in communication with normal brake train pipe through driver's brake valve and feed valve; on exhauster side of feed valve, release chambers are provided, having volume equal to five times brake cylinder piston displacement.
