Paper shows how driving conditions such as acceleration, braking, and rolling influence fuel consumption; test runs were carried out with Magirus-Deutz bus on intercity and suburban routes employing two basically different driving methods; values obtained under various driving conditions refer to mileages covered in different gears, crankshaft revolutions per minute per meter traveled and travel speed at given top speed; advantages gained from most economical method.
