Yates Tours Ltd, of Runcorn, Cheshire, keeps majority of its vehicles at Runcorn, with six across High Level Bridge at Widnes; attempts to extend premises have been frustrated by local authority uncertainty about future road plans; maintenance is carried out over pit, and there is tiny stores section; yet despite handicaps, maintenance of fleet is excellent; in steam cleaning plant and ramp outside premises, buses are steam cleaned every year and vehicles are inspected, checked and greased at regular intervals; greasing is done at between 2000 and 3000 mi; preparation of buses for inspection; only new tires are used.
