Mooring system is used to depths of 250 m; current meters and temperature recorders are suspended on taut braided polypropylene line between subsurface float and anchor; meteorological buoy is connected by slack polypropylene rope to second anchor; anchors are also joined by slack polypropylene rope; at end of ice season, during which meteorological buoy is not used, clock-controlled recovery buoy aids in locating equipment; estimate of mooring system' s safety factor.
