First of three oil engined cargo vessels built and engined by Wm Doxford and Sons, at Pallion ship yard, Sunderland; length on waterline 438 ft 6 in.; breadth 59 ft; depth to second deck 29 ft 8 in.; propelled by 4-cyl Doxford oil engine with diam of 670 mm and combined stroke 2320 mm, developing 4250 bhp at 108 rpm.
