New ships ordered from Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co, Kearny, NJ, by Standard Oil Co, NJ, to augment fleet of modern steam turbine driven bulk oil tankers; vessels measure 440 ft bp, 66 1/2 ft beam, 34 ft 6 in. depth molded, and 28 ft draft; to be equipped with De Laval cross-compound turbines with double reduction gears developing 3000 shp at 90 rpm.
