Study on reason why rail is canted and way angle of inclination is decided, which has made it clear that on section where steam locomotives are in service, cant of 1/30 to 1/40 is found adequate for 50 kg rail, while for 37 kg and 30 kg rails, one of 1/20 to 1/25 is appropriate.
