Due to recent rulings. of U S Bureau of Marine Inspection, safety valves are sent ashore for purpose of thorough overhaul and, in many cases, are returned to vessel in thorough state of ruination; example of this form of destruction experienced by author, when 8 valves were ruined by old established firm of ship repairers.
