Considerations in development of suitable instruments for helicopters; most modern air speed indicators are inaccurate below 50 mph; with ability of helicopter to hover, and to drift sideways and backwards, it is necessary to produce air speed instrument reading to zero, and perhaps negatively or backwards; requirements for altimeters, compasses and drift sights for helicopters and use of electronic devices for determination of actual air position, discussed.
