Development up to present time; trends which seem apparent on present airplanes and projected designs; it is concluded that main stumbling block on path of exhaust equipment improvement lies in metallurgy of available materials; material is required that has scale point above that of exhaust gas temperatures, comparable increase in tensile strength, along with considerably reduced carbon absorption.
