Number of calculations of bending torsion wing flutter are made at two Mach numbers and results compared; conclusion is that effect of compressibility on flutter speed (wing bending-wing torsion, no aileron) for subsonic speeds with no shocks, although complicated, is relatively small in usual cases and, for Mach number of 0.7, can be allowed for by corrections of small order to incompressible case results.
