Discussion of recent types of test made at RAE and reasons for adopting full span tests; cantilever type of wing test satisfactory only when test is in any case to be limited to outer wing and provided structure includes only one spar; wing tests other than this are best in test frame by means of dummy or partially dummy fuselage.
