Great efforts were made in basic research of guided missiles by Germans; one-third of their aerodynamics research was devoted to problems of these weapons; wind tunnels of undreamed-of speeds were under construction when war was over; Mach number of 10 was not too great for Germans to comprehend and strive for; various types of developments grouped under expression guided missiles are discussed.
