Craftsmanship is whole skill of craftsman which he exercises in production; functions of scientist and craftsman correspond roughly to those of theory and practice; they are mutually complementary and both necessary to social well being; paper presents craftsman as original scientist, and traces historically, modification of craftsman's function.
