Estrella, built in Rotterdam in 1920, is first Norwegian ship to be equipped with American Diesel engines; at end of war, owners Odfjell Line of Norway had vessel towed to Bethlehem Yard, Brooklyn, N. Y., for complete hull and machinery overhaul; propelled by two Hamilton 6-cyl, 2-cycle Diesel engines, each developing 1400 shp at 140 rpm; engine room equipment described and diagrammatic layout presented.
