Machine, designed and used at Bethlehem Steel Company's San Francisco Yard during Navy cruiser construction program, is now being used in reconditioning commercial vessels; frame is of light angle steel construction; on one end is attached #04V05 -- 115-v motor and governor assembly, of 8000 rpm, with gear reduction of 504-1 through clutch and chain drive, actuating double pitch screw; length of travel for one continuous cut is 6 ft; speed can be varied from 4 in. to 30 in. per min.
