Some characteristics are given of recent radar installations for marine navigation as exemplified in equipment of whaling ship Southern Venturer and that of HMS Pollux and HMS Fleetwood; in typical unit wavelength of 3 cm is used; with peak r-f power of 30 kw; pulse length is 0.2 microsec at recurrent of 1000 c/s; block diagrams indicate portions of circuit.
