Successful trials are reported of use of f-m satellite system for rail communications over 14-mi distance between Dearborn and Flatrock, Mich, by Detroit, Toledo and Toronto Railroad and Ford Motor Co; mobile units operated on 152 to 162-mc band, whereas satellite equipment, using induction radio link supplied by overhead wayside wires, operated on 189 kc; details and results of tests.
