Analytical technique is useful in determining probability that communication is possible between various ground stations by means of satellite relays arranged in systems of nonsynchronous orbits; application of technique is confined to systems in which satellites are in common-altitude circular orbits and divided among few distinct orbit planes which makes it possible to use multiple-satellite injection; technique is demonstrated in examination of promising orbital systems to determine which ones provide best coverage of worldwide network of communication links.
