Use of icing research tunnel at Lockheed Aircraft Corp to evaluate and determine useful range of rotating cylinder method for measuring liquid water content, droplet size, and droplet size distribution; when water content of tunnel cloud is compared with known water input, lower value is invariably obtained; discrepancy is believed due to so-called "Ludlam" effect; study of factors affecting surface conditions on cylinder and determination of useful range.
