Car bearing unit developed by British Timken Ltd and used in conjunction with horseshoe adaptor, fitted to British Railroads standard 5-ft 6 in. frieight car truck; each unit consists of two Timken tapered roller bearings mounted in cast or forged steel housing; high capacity bearings and all other components, apart from housing, are interchangeable; unit is suitable for use with new and existing trucks.
