Built by Vertol Aircraft Corp, Morton, Pa, for U S Army, helicopter accommodates 22 troops, commander and two crew members; adoption of tandem-rotor principle, with lifting rotors at fore and aft ends of fuselage; ability to operate on water; of ten models ordered seven are powered with twin General Electric T-58 turbo-shaft engines and three with twin Lycoming T-53s.
