Results of 3,000,000-mi field tests, undertaken to compare multigrade oils with customary single-grade oils in six types of equipment; gasoline and diesel trucks, diesel buses, earthmovers, farm tractors, and taxicabs; qualities studied include fuel and oil mileage, low temperature starting, and engine wear; savings obtained in fuel economy outweigh additional cost.
