Vessel of 730 tons gross for Southampton Isle of Wight service was built by John I.Thornycroft and Co; length oa (including ramp and fender) 191 ft 2 in., breadth molded 40 ft, depth molded to main deck, 10 ft 7 in., draft amidships, 7 ft; about 45 vehicles can be carried on main deck; when used exclusively for passengers, 1200 can be taken; propulsion is by 2 Crossley engines, each rated at 900 bhp.
