Guidance scheme is proposed for atmospheric re-entry of manned lifting vehicle at supercircular velocities; automatic multivariable terminal control scheme (lambda matrix control) is used during critical supercircular portion of re-entry to bring vehicle to prescribed altitude, circular speed, and horizontal flight path direction; predictor corrector scheme guides vehicle to vicinity of desired landing site; numerical results.
