Results suggest that design wave bending moments are essentially proportional to wave heights which actually may be encountered, establish more firmly grossly linear dependence of mid-ship bending moment on wave height; for commercial-type ships, within practical operational limits in extreme head or following seas, no significant limit of midship wave bending moments is to be expected as wave steepness is increased up to value of about 1/9; this also applies to naval ship type, but not for wave hogging moments for which upper limit exists.
