Information on system developed by Morgan, Berkeley and Co which uses electric power on board ship and converts this into l-v current to provide complete protection to underwater hull; anodes are lead alloy extrusion mounted in polyester glass fiber holder which forms streamlined anode on hull; control of cathodic protection current is based on type FX 27 controller developed by AEI, Ltd, and incorporates SCR current regulators; system can be extended to ship's rudder by connecting this electrically into circuit, and slip ring has been developed that can be fitted to shaft to provide protection for propeller.
