Diesel electric vessel Hudson, of 4800 tons displacement, was built by Saint John Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co, New Brunswick, and will be attached to Bedford Institute of Oceanography; length oa 293 ft 6 in., breadth molded 50 ft, depth molded 30 ft, draft 20 ft; ship is capable of hydrographic and oceanographic work anywhere in world, but will serve mainly in Canadian Arctic and sub-Arctic and off Atlantic coast; profile diagram.
