Finite-difference method is used to solve system of equations governing hypersonic air wake with nonequilibrium chemistry; laminar and turbulent transports are considered; numerical results for laminar flow are compared with results of integral method; additional calculations for turbulent flow presented show some effects of oxygen-electron attachment process in far wake, and of choice of model of turbulent diffusivity; pertinence to hypersonic and space vehicle re-entry wake phenomena.
