Self-unloading bulk carrier is new type of Great Lakes vessel with ocean-going potential, and was delivered by Port Weller Drydocks to Upper Lakes Shipping Co; length oa 680 ft, breadth molded 75 ft, seaway draft 25 ft 6 in. and dw 20,270 tons, ocean draft 28 ft 9 in. and dw 25,305 tons, cargo capacity (100%) 999,055 cu ft; discharging speed for iron ore pellets and limestone 3000 short tph and for coal 2400 short tph; General Electric Co of Canada steam turbine develops 9000 shp; plan.
