Kockum-built "medium crude carrier", delivered to Nordenfjeldske Steamship Co, is on charter to Shell; length oa 775 ft, molded breadth 105 ft 6 in., molded depth 53 ft 4 1/2 in., summer draft 38 ft, cargo dw (98%) 56, 646 tons; 10-cyl Kockum-MAN type diesel engine developing 18,000 bhp at 115 rpm is first to be turbocharged by new constant pressure parallel injector system developed by Kockums and Brown-Boveri; engine is provided with Kockums control console at first platform level and also automatic bridge control system which is first of new design developed by Kockums and ASEA.
