Dan Brostrom built by Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstads, Gothenburg, for Brostrom group has length oa of 773 ft 9 3/4 in., breadth molded 105 ft 6 in., depth molded 53 ft 6 in.; hull has raked stem and cruiser stern, poop and forecastle and is of all welded construction; total capacity of oil tanks is 2,427,537 cu ft; six wing tanks permanently used for water ballast have total capacity of 396,666 cu ft; ship is propelled by 9-cyl B and W turbocharged diesel engine of large bore type which develops 18,900 bhp at 110 rpm for service speed of 17 knots on daily consumption of about 75 tons of oil fuel.
