New technique, called "in-place welding of ferrous tubing", is designed around new welding tool engineered and developed by Northrop-Norair Div of Northrop Corp, Hawthorne, Calif; full description illustrated with photographs, is given; it simplifies installation and welding of tube lines in aircraft and missile assembly, reduces cost and weight; it is effective on straight-butt, telescoped or sleeve-lap joints.
