Investigations of air-fuel ratio and spark timing were carried out using; laboratory single-cylinder engine, passenger car operated at 30 mph road load and cars operated in accordance with California Standards for Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emissions; study of combustion chamber deposits was limited to tests in engine and car operated according to California Standards; summary of results.
