Isolation diode, developed by Motorola Inc, provides reliable switch between output of alternator and storage battery of car; its function is to block any flow of current from battery back to alternator and to permit use of charge indicator light; alternator charging system employs electronic principles in converting a-c to d-c and in giving complete control of field current without contact points found in vibrator type regulator.
