New Triumph Vitesse saloon and convertible are higher performance, luxury developments of corresponding Herald 1200 models; increased power and torque are obtained by means of 1596-cc 6-cyl engine, smaller bore version of 1998-cc unit installed in current Vanguard Luxury Six vehicles; net power output and torque are 70 bhp at 5000 rpm and 92.5 lb ft at 2800 rpm; lines of body closely resemble those of Herald; front end is different, as result of adoption of 4 headlamps, in obliquely mounted pairs.
