3000 bhp 24-cyl light-weight 2-stroke engine for special applications developed by Mitsubishi Nippon Heavy Industries, Tokyo; crankcase-cylinder block is aluminum casting and carries nitrided crankshaft in thin-walled tri-metal bearings of exceptional diam/width ratio; uniflow-scavenging turbocharged with multiple exhaust valves in head and reverse gear, engine is intended to be installed in light naval craft.
