New drydock is part of modernization program at Cammell Laird and Co; it is designed to accommodate oil tankers up to 100,000 tons dw, aircraft carriers, etc; length with caisson in normal working position is 950 ft and in outer position 978 ft 6 in., entrance width 140 ft, permissible depth of water over keel blocks when impounding 38 ft; design and service facilities are described; location plan shows shipyard reconstruction works, on which notes are included.
