Approximately 60% of automobile sales are made at night; therefore lighting should be designed to attract attention, to provide highlight and sparkle on cars displayed, to emphasize focal displays of featured cars, and to help speed customer's buying decision; principles for show-window lighting in general and several rules to apply for automobile displays in particular are outlined; lamp sizes suggested for highlighting and accent display are given for main business districts and secondary business districts or small towns; general lighting, lighting of service department, and selection of colors.
