Space simulation facility at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center consists of Dynamic Test Chamber and Space Environment Simulator; latter incorporates solar simulator, intended for thermal balance testing, which consists of 127 identical axially symmetric modules; internal optics, consisting of Cassergrain collimators and LN2 heat sinks are described; energy source in Goddard module is 2. 5-kw mercury-xenon short arc lamp; design, development and fabrication of solar simulator including solutions found to problems in many areas are described.
