Mission objectives and types are defined and compared; several Earth launch vehicles and their relative merits are discussed; propulsion systems for interplanetary vehicles and cost of initial mission alternatives are considered as well as various mission modes, categorized by vehicle type, by powered maneuvers during mission and by vehicle assembly; mission analysis involving flight times, energy requirements, navitagional aspects, etc, is presented.
