Next step in development of space suits is Apollo Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU), comprising advanced extra-vehicular-suit and more extensive portable life support system (PLSS) than Gemini will carry; description of E-suit in its Gemini form and tabulation of space suit mission requirements; two possible approaches to achieve mobility are to mobilize joints alone and restrain rest of body area, or to provide degree of flexibility throughout body; concept of 12-jet modular maneuvering unit.
