Technique of trajectory and stage propellant loading optimization for powered phase of multistage rocket carriers through atmosphere is presented; procedure is particularly suitable for large scale engineering analyses of vehicle trajectories and performance by means of digital computers; theoretical requirements and equations of motion are considered; basic computer program logic is described; technique is applied to hypothetical 2- and 3-stage vehicle in Saturn V class.
