Study carried out by Lockheed Missiles and Space Co to develop and experimentally qualify theoretical performance model for nylon phenolic; mathematical treatment consists of description of individual depolymerization kinetics of two-component resin-fabric composite and quantitative analysis of decomposition products, and description of their chemical behavior as they diffuse to char surface; resulting theory and coefficients are applied in correlation of air-arc test data and flight data to establish validity of analysis procedures developed.
