Problem of astronaut retrieval in rendezvous and docking operations is examined and aspects of retrieval philosophies considering conservative and nonconservative techniques are explored; some nonconservative conceptual methods are indicated which may involve thrust or anchor mass; methods are undergoing analytical scrutiny; simulation studies.
